This product is strong enough to tackle the toughest of ingrown hairs, yet gentle enough that it can be used on the face. It contains salicylic and glycolic acid which help to shed dead skin cells from the top layer of skin. Salicylic acid also reduces redness and swelling which decreases the number of breakouts that form and also helps to speed healing. It also contains aloe vera which will help to keep skin soothed and calm and peppermint oil which will reduce any itchiness as hairs begin to grow back through the skin.
This type of exfoliation is preferred over a body scrub on sensitive areas such as underarms, face, bikini lines and other intimate areas. Body scrubs in these areas can often be too harsh and are a common cause for getting ingrown hairs. If you are too rough with a scrub, you will slightly damage the top layer of skin, as the skin begins to heal it will form a micro scab across the hair follicle which can make it difficult for hair to come through, causing an ingrown hair to form.
To apply this product, put a small amount on a cotton pad and rub over the area you wish to treat. This product can be used as a preventive measure against ingrown hairs by using every 1-2 days, or can be used a spot treatment against existing ingrown hairs. To spot treat apply 4 times a day to the area for 3-4 days.
One bottle should last you 3-6 months.
This product is not recommended for use during pregnancy as it contains salicylic acid. If pregnant we would recommend exfoliating very gently with ruff stuff body scrub once a week and applying moisturiser daily.
